There are many altars
Hello to all our subscribers made up of family and friends. Each one of you holds a special place in my heart and I’m so glad you’ve joined us on this journey.
Paul said in 1 Timothy 4:8 “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.”
I’ve been told there is a place on the YWAM base where one can lift some weights and tone their muscles and that’s good. There’s nothing wrong with that healthy body and healthy mind, especially for us who are getting on in years, however in this season I’m going to focus more on another type of exercise.
Paul said to train for godliness but what does that look like? How does one train for godliness?
Every student undertaking the different schools offered at YWAM Kona or those staffing the schools or those in leadership on the base itself are aware or being made aware of how to train in godliness. We are all both students and teachers.
We’re all different, but for me personally I’m diving from a platform of surrender. I don’t know how deep the water is or how cold or what’s swimming underneath and many may think or say you’re crazy, stay on the shore, sun yourself, at least swim in the shallows. Should I listen to those voices? I also know surrender at this level is only the beginning.
I’m writing this as I pack our suitcases and prepare to leave Lausanne which has been our home for the last 8 months. Farewell Switzerland and Aloha Kona (with a quick stop in Seattle to say hello to family I’ve never met).
I do know I’ll be spending time in the Prayer Room on base so if you have some needs, some issues you’re going through, please send me a personal message on Facebook or Messenger or WhatsApp and I will pray for you or call and talk personally if you choose.
Au revoir
Renee
