No matter where we were, where we are now, what we are doing, or where we are going — is there a plan?
I can easily answer some of those questions with clarity and understanding but some of them I cannot. It’s the not questions being asked by some around me that end up being the knots that I try to untie to satisfy the ones asking.
So instead lets focus on the cans.
What can I do?
What can I answer?
What do I know that’s real and has great worth and meaning in this incredible mystery called life?
We know there is death and it comes to all. Death can be that thing you never talk about until it’s necessary, or it can be gently spoken about so that it doesn’t hit you like a hammer when it happens.
Grief: it’s unavoidable. Even if you harden your heart to try and not feel anything so you can function without pain. Or perhaps we’d rather hold onto some bitterness instead of letting go of it. There are many options; not all of them wise.
There are ways we think we can avoid death, but here’s the conclusion: Christ died for us to show us the way to where He was going and that there was a way.
Jesus said, “Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later.” John 13:36
The age old question: “Is there life after death?” The answer for me is emphatically yes. What is it for you?
Your answer matters.
Yes, there is indeed life after death. The great news is that we get to experience that life in the here and now, we don’t have to wait until our body dies. Jesus promised us life and that more abundantly. Where there is hope, there is life. Jesus is both that hope and that life, here and now and for all eternity.
