Easter Ohana style
Easter Ohana style ... The Sonrise service.
Who knew we would be celebrating this wonderful occasion in Hawaii. The birth, the death, the rising, the ascending, the saving, the sending. From the Palm branches to the cross, to the tomb to Heaven. Sorry kids no bunny in this story.
We attended an early dawn service on Easter Sunday. Shuttles were made available for those who chose to rise early. The service was at an old airport ground and it looked like the whole of Kailua-Kona was present. It was the glory of the sun rising and the community at large asking God to bless the day.
Many times I have asked God to bless me but I want, I need that to change. God has already blessed me with life, with the breath in my lungs, with my family, with my friends, with the mission to reach the lost.
The Bible speaks of grieving the spirit of God. I for one do not want to do that so I asked ChatGPT what grieves the spirit of God and hey presto I got an answer … but it wasn’t that it was wrong, but it was the wrong way.
God our Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit wants a real relationship with us. Not a snap chat, or an Insta pic or any number of social media moments or platforms that are out there. God is in Heaven, we are on earth, and it takes time to make the connection.
Please. We must give him the tithe of our day - our time. As the late Keith Green stated “Standing in a garage doesn’t make you a car anymore than standing in a church make you a Christian”
Knowing whose you are and why you’re here gives you the greatest blessing and it comes wrapped in His perfect peace.
Aloha
